Form und Inhalt
Series consists of country correspondence maintained by Richard Erb, Deputy Managing Director (1984-1994). As correspondence from Departments to the Office of the Managing Director was addressed to both the Managing Director and the Deputy Managing Director, records in this series partially duplicate those found in de Larosière and Camdessus Country Files and consist of correspondence with country officials and foreign financial institutions to whom member countries were indebted, and correspondence with Department heads by Erb in his capacity as Deputy Managing Director and/or Acting Managing Director during the Managing Director’s absence. Record types include telexes and cables, original and annotated memoranda to files, and back-to-office reports. Of interest are the US Congress Files which pertain to US-national IMF staff’s ability to testify before Congress. Records are arranged in alphabetical order by country, and reverse chronologically within each file.
