Series consists of the Country Debt Situation files of the External Finance Division of the Exchange and Trade Relations Department (ETR). Files deal with the debt situation in member countries, balance of payments, external debt and Extended Fund Facilities during the period 1965-1991. Records consist primarily of correspondence between the Division Chief, Deputy Director, ETR and Division economists regarding the Division's views and comments on draft staff reports and briefing papers on Article IV Consultation Missions to member countries and reviews under stand-by arrangements. Files are arranged alphabetically by country and records are organized in reverse chronological order within.
