Series is open according to the Archives Access Policy. However, classified records of the Joint Committee must be declassified under both the IMF policy and the World’s Bank Disclosure Policy.

Series consists of records maintained by Alexandre Kafka, Executive Director of IMF and Chairman of the Committee and its Sub-Committees from 1977 to 1979 and also maintained by Eric Caines, Executive Secretary. Records include: originals and copies of incoming and outgoing letters; memoranda; cables; meeting agenda and minutes; Committee documents (CSCI); data figures and tables; notes; progress reports and final reports prepared by the Committee and by external consultants. Records document discussions about staff salary increases, market studies, tax reimbursement, and country compensation data, and illustrate the process by which surveys were undertaken, particularly the compensation survey and its final reports.
