Series consists of subject files maintained by the staff of the Central Asia Department Division A. Series is processed in chronological tranches. Within successive tranches files are arranged alphabetically by subject and documents within files are arranged in reverse chronological order. A first tranche (1991-1995, Boxes 1-19) contains operational records, internal correspondence and memoranda. Topics covered include exchange rates, seminars, surveillance, use fo fund resources.
