  • Scope and Content
    Series consists of files maintained by Malcolm D. Knight for Pakistan and Kuwait during his tenure as Head of Division A of the Middle Eastern Department. The majority of the files concern Pakistan. They cover the1989 Article IV Consultation discussions with member country and the negotiation and review of a Stand-By Arrangement and an Arrangement under the Structural Adjustment Facility approved in December 1988). They include also documents regarding the Pakistan Consortium meetings attended by Malcolm Knight and, generally, Bank Fund collaboration in Pakistan. The Kuwait files deal with the1987 Article IV Consultation. Material contains heavily annotated drafts of Board documents, memoranda, correspondence, handwritten notes and background documents. There are also twelve notebooks containing handwritten notes and meeting minutes regarding Pakistan.
