  • Indholdsbeskrivelse
Series consists of country files, maintained by the Asian Department Immediate Office. Files contain internal and external memoranda and correspondence from the Front Office (Immediate Office) and Department Directors, pertaining to Annual Meetings, Article Consultations conducted in countries served by the Department, Technical Assistance Reports, correspondence with Resident Representatives in countries where they were stationed, and Mission files. Records reflect the Department's functions and activities, in relation to the financial stability of the member countries of the region. The files are arranged alphabetically by country and then alphabetically by subject within each country: Correspondence, Consortia and Aid Group Meetings, Mission and Consultation Reports, Resident Representative Correspondence, and Technical Assistance. For some countries there are extraneous files including: Compensatory Financing, Oil Facility, Quotas, Institute courses, briefs prepared for the Managing Director in advance of his visit to a particular country, Debt, relations with the IBRD, Exchange Rate Matters, Buffer Stock Financing, Gold, and Country Membership Files. A tranche of documents from 1990 to1994 has been appended to the end of series and is arranged alphabetically and in reverse chronological order: these documents are originated by Asian Department (APD) and its successors, Southeast Asia and Pacific Department (SEA) and Central Asia Department (CTA). While the Asian Department was originally formed in the 1950s, the files in this series cover the years from the mid 1960s to1994. Earlier material was likely routed to the Central Files.
