Series contains primarily copies of outgoing correspondence and other material prepared by W. Lawrence Hebbard, or prepared to be sent by EXR Director while Hebbard was part of Exchange Restrictions Department and later, created while he was Deputy Secretary of IMF. Includes letters, memoranda, cables, some minutes and drafts relating to GATT and GATT Intercessional Committee (minutes were prepared by Hebbard, 1958) and country consultation meetings, as well as aide mémoires. Correspondence contains comments on internal papers and policy, notices of IMF staff travel, Annual Meeting matters, and occasionally memoranda-to-file containing summaries of meetings and discussions with country officials. Arranged in chronological order. Files dated from 1957 to 1963 contain divided tabs to separate and identify primary subjects in the correspondence.
