Series consists predominantly of outgoing letters, along with incoming correspondence, internal memoranda, and related material sent or received by Arie Bouter while he was Division Chief of the Balance of Payments Division (BURBP) of the Bureau of Statistics. Much of the correspondence is photocopies of the originals. Correspondence primarily relates to confirmation of statistics received from various government and banking officials. Additionally, there is material related to the operation of the BURBP such as requests for information about candidates for the Balance of Payments courses, personnel matters, comments regarding briefing papers, and some material related to technical assistance missions. The material is arranged in reverse chronological order.
