Series is open according to the Policy on Access to the Fund's Archives. Files will be screened by reference staff for any time restrictions.

Series consists of photographs authored by IMF photographers that include IMF Managing Directors (MD) and Deputy Managing Directors (DMD) participating in certain formal events, bilateral meetings, delivering speeches, sitting for portraits, giving interviews, interacting with staff, and attending socials, from circa 1950 through 2003. Organized by IMF photographers as part of their daily workflow, photographs have been kept in their original order and are arranged alphabetically by the last name of select Managing Directors and Deputy Managing Directors and then chronologically by event. Descriptions are available at the subseries level. Subseries titles include: Eduardo Aninat, Michel Camdessus, H. Merle Cochran, William B. Dale, Richard Erb, Stanley Fischer, Camille Gutt, Per Jacobsson, Horst Köhler, Jacques de Larosière, Prabhakar Narvekar, Andrew Overby, Ivar Rooth, Pierre-Paul Schweitzer, Frank A. Southard, Jr., Shigemitsu Sugisaki, and H. Johannes Witteveen., For preservation reasons, photographs (prints, negatives, contact sheets, and slides) are housed in 18 boxes according to format and size as follows: Boxes 1-2: 4x5 inch negatives; Boxes 3-11: 35mm negatives, 120 film, 35mm slides; Boxes 12-14: contact sheets, prints (8x10 inches or smaller), and textual records; and boxes 15-18: 4x6 inch prints. Corresponding negatives and prints can be matched together with the titles and dates supplied by the photographer or the archivist. Oversize photos are housed in the IMF Archives TGSIMIG Oversize Photographs box and include 11x14 inch b&w prints of the following individuals: H. Merle Cochran, William B. Dale, Richard Erb, Per Jacobsson, Andrew Overby, and Frank A. Southard. Textual records include photo logs, memos, and requisitions relating to the photographic material.
