Series is open according to the Archives Access Policy. Official Interim Committee documents are closed under this Policy, so files and documents in the series containing these official documents have been separated and can be found in box 3.

Series contains the meeting records of the Interim Committee maintained by the Secretary's Department Immediate Office (SECAI), as well as records of SECAI created in the course of its secretarial and organizational duties on behalf of the Committee. Specific records include: copies and some original correspondence primarily maintained by SECAI Deputy Secretary regarding operational and administrative procedures of the Committee and Committee membership; official Committee documents (ICMS, such as brief notices and agenda, record of discussion, press communiqués, list of constituencies or attendees); text of draft statements or briefings for chairman and other internal documents relevant to the activities of the Interim Committee. There is a wide range of topics covered in the Committee's deliberations such as: 1975 oil facility; compensatory financing; buffer stock financing facilities; review of quotas; the role of gold in the international monetary system and also mobilization of IMF’s gold for members. Series arranged in chronological order, and reverse chronological order within the files.
