 - Scope and ContentSeries consists of photographs authored by IMF photographers of events, individuals, and activities of the IMF Institute, from 1964 through 2004. Photographs generally include the following: groups shots of Institute attendees and IMF Institute directors; Institute social events; graduation photographs of attendees receiving certificates from IMF Institute management (also identified as "farewell" and "certificate" events); and candid and staged photographs of attendees and IMF Institute management for Institute publications, booklets, or brochures. IMF and IMF Institute management commonly found in the photographs include the following: Luis Rubén Azócar, Michel Camdessus, William B. Dale, Patrick B. de Fontenay, Robert C. Effros, Richard Erb, Stanley Fischer, Hans M. Flickenschild, Jacob A. Frenkel, Manuel Guitián, Alexandre Kafka, F.A.G. Keesing, Mohsin S. Khan, Anne O. Krueger, Anthony Lanyi, Jacques de Larosière, John B. McLenaghan, Alassane D. Ouattara, Pierre-Paul Schweitzer, Shakour A. Shaalan, Vito Tanzi, Gérard M. Teyssier, U. Tun Wai, James D. Wolfensohn, and Chorng-Huey Wong., Photographs (prints, negatives, contact sheets, digital assets) have been kept in their original order as established by IMF photographers and are arranged in chronological order by year followed by course title and/or date. Courses are generally identified by year and course number (e.g., course number four from 1988 will be marked in the following possible combinations: "88-IV," "88-4," or just "IV"). For preservation reasons, negatives and prints are separated and are organized according to type and size in the following groups: Box 1, 4x5 inch negatives; Boxes 2-11, 35mm and 120 film negatives; and Boxes 12-19, prints and contact sheets. The 4x5 inch negatives in box 1 are arranged chronologically in two groups, the first according to the dates assigned by photographers, followed by those that are undated but have been given approximate dates by the archivist. Each of these negatives were also assigned a number, [1] through [43], to maintain order within these two groups. The prints and contact sheets found in boxes 12-19 are arranged chronologically and are rehoused in 70 archival files, numbered [File1] through [File 70]. Textual records (including photo logs, requisitions, memos, notes, and checklists) are housed in the archival files with the prints and contact sheets. Gaps include photographs for the following years: 1965, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974, 1975, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981 and 1982.
