Archival history
Due to the fact that only one file was appraised as archival, it is difficult to determine if BLSAI gathered all the records of its predecessor and current units and sections into separate record series or a General Files series.

Series is open according to the Policy on Access to the Fund's Archives.
Scope and Content
Series consists of one file from the former Language Services Division in the Secretary's Department which was kept by the Reference Unit in the Bureau of Language Services Immediate Office. The file has records on meetings held by the United Nations organizations on language services policy matters such as use of languages other than working languages, interpretation, translation of publications and documentation, and cooperation amongst international organizations.
