- Etendue et contenuSeries consists of subject files maintained by Ernest Sturc during his tenure as Assistant Director and Deputy Director of the European Department. They are organized in Austria (1951-1963), and Czechoslovakia (1952-1956) files. Additionally there are two small files - (1) correspondence exchanged with Professor Nenad D. Popovic, from Syracuse University, of particular interest is a brief review by the Deputy Director provided on a professor's paper on "Economic Planning in the Soviet Union"; and (2) notes taken on several meetings during consultations with Turkey., The file on Austria contains primarily incoming and outgoing personal correspondence on the country's economic issues such as import liberalization and simplification of the exchange rate structure. Also found in the files are topics related to Annual Meetings, country consultations, a request for financial support by the Austrian Institute for Economic Research addressed to the Ford Foundation, and notes on meetings with Austrian, British, and American government officials., Files on Czechoslovakia contain incoming and outgoing correspondence and internal memoranda, cables and telexes, copies of agreements, and documents prepared in collaboration with other departments. Topics include discussions on country quota, country economic data, country exchange rate system, country consultations, par value, settlement of accounts between the Fund and the country, monetary and price reform in Czechoslovakia, and government reorganization.
