- Ambito e contenutoSeries consists of files maintained by Oscar L. Altman, J. Keith Horsefield and Margaret G. de Vries in the preparation of the Twenty Year History of the International Monetary Fund. Records include a chronological set of draft chapters that contain outgoing correspondence from Horsefield and de Vries to various contributing authors of articles used in the research process; progress reports; and, summary of history group meetings. Files labeled “Correspondence” contain: correspondence between the Historian and other IMF staff working on the Twenty Year History and various contributors; memoranda to file on the progress on the history; and, comments by staff on specific chapters. These are organized by chapter. Correspondents include: officials from the Bank of England, Bank of Canada, U.S. Treasury Department, various university historians, and scholars. Files regarding the “Annals of the Fund” include handwritten indexes of Board document series reviewed in researching the history, chronology of events, draft outline for the Annals, and, discussion notes. Record types include, board documents, minutes, memoranda for file, newspaper clippings, and correspondence. Files are arranged alphabetically.
