- [nb-NO]Scope and Content[nb-NO]Fonds contains records of the European Department (EUR) created and/or maintained by its Immediate Office and area divisions. Although the Department was established in 1953, there are some earlier records from 1946-1953 created at the time when EUR was a division under its predecessors, the Research Department (1946-1950) and European and North American Department (1950-1953). Records primarily document the functions of EUR in the areas of: department administration; monitoring the economic, financial and political developments of its member countries; negotiating the use of Fund resources; conducting missions and participating in meetings; providing technical assistance to countries; and, collaborating with other international organizations.
