Series consists of photographs authored by IMF photographers of individuals and events for the IMF publication, Staff News, from 1970 through 2003. Photographs (negatives, prints, and contact sheets) have been kept in their original order as established by IMF photographers and are arranged chronologically by year and then by event date. Archival descriptions for each year of Staff News photographs are available at the subseries level. Names of individuals and events have been listed, where they have been identified., Photographs typically include the following: members of staff and management; staff picnics and other events held at Bretton Woods Recreation Center (BWRC); adult and children's holiday/Christmas parties as well as other seasonal events; photographs documenting facilities, construction, departmental moves, and other events that reflect the daily work of the IMF; retirement/farewell parties, receptions, memorial events, and ceremonies; regional events and other cultural events; local outreach to schools, shelters, and neighborhood development; camera club and other topical clubs; and events that center around such groups as the choral society, fitness center, and art society., For preservation reasons, photographic negatives are separated from prints and contact sheets and are stored in 14 boxes. Boxes 1 through 11 contain the negatives and boxes 12 through 14 contain the corresponding prints and contact sheets. The negatives in boxes 1 through 11 are organized by year in the following boxes: Box 1: 1970-1974; Box 2: 1975-1979; Box 3: 1980-1985; Box 4: 1986-1988; Box 5: 1989-1990; Box 6: 1991-1993; Box 7: 1994-1995; Box 8: 1996-1997; Box 9: 1998-1999; Box 10: 2000-2001; and Box 11: 2002-2003. The prints and contact sheets in boxes 12 through 14 are further organized into 16 archival files by year and include the following: [File 1] 1970-1974; [File 2] 1975-1979; [File 3] 1980-1982; [File 4] 1983-1985; [File 5] 1986-1987; [File 6] 1988; [File 7] 1989; [File 8] 1990; [File 9] 1991; [File 10] 1992, 1993; [File 11] 1994; [File 12] 1995; [File 13] 1996; [File 14] 1997; [File 15] 1998; [File 16] 1999, 2000, 2002. Negatives and corresponding prints and contact sheets can be matched together with the date, title, or markings found on the enclosures as established by IMF photographers or supplied by the archivist. In addition, textual records, including requisitions, memos, or photo logs of events, are stored in the files with the prints and contact sheets. Not all negatives have corresponding prints and contact sheets.
