Series consists of photographs of the Annual Meetings of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Board of Governors of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) (now the World Bank Group) and its affiliates from 1948 through 2002. The Annual Meetings are traditionally held in Washington, DC (USA) for two years in a row and internationally in the third year. Authored primarily by IMF photographers, the photographs have been kept in their original order and are arranged chronologically by year and then by event date or in groupings created by IMF photographers. Gaps include photographs for Annual Meetings held in the following seventeen years: 1946, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1955, 1958, 1961, 1964, 1970, 1973, 1974, 1976, 1979, 1982, 1983, 1985, and 1991. Thirteen of the seventeen years of gaps in the Annual Meetings photographs were held internationally. The other four (1946, 1974, 1983, and 1991) were held in the United States., Photographs include Annual Meetings chairmen, IMF and IBRD (World Bank) management, senior staff, and support staff, Executive Directors and Governors, their affiliates, world leaders, and others. Typical events covered include press conferences, addresses, speeches, social events, images used for technical requirements, and opening and closing ceremonies. Names of individuals and events have been listed, where they have been identified. In addition, for each of the Annual Meetings, the IMF published summary proceedings which can also act as an aid in further identifying senior-level Annual Meetings attendees, delegations, and groups. These summary proceedings are available in the IMF Archives reading room., For preservation reasons, photographic negatives are generally stored separately from prints and contact sheets. Corresponding negatives and prints can be matched together in the following ways: with the archival file number, a cross-reference note assigned by the archivist, or with the arrangement schema originally established by IMF photographers. Some textual records accompany the photographic material including: schedules-of-events, requisitions, delegation lists, and IMF photographers' hand-written notes. Due to their small amount, textual records are housed in archival enclosures and stored in the boxes containing contact sheets and prints. In addition, 35mm slides are stored separately from negatives and prints and can be found in the IMF Archives Slide Box, arranged alphabetically by series., Archival descriptions for each of the Annual Meetings are available at the subseries level. Further levels of description are available at the file level for the following years of Annual Meetings: 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, and 1996., TGSIMIG Annual Meetings photographs are housed in 52 archival boxes. Boxes 1 through 44 consist of negatives and their corresponding prints and contact sheets (see list below). 8 additional archival boxes include preservation copies (duplicate negatives and interpositives) of some of the earliest Annual Meetings photographs.
