- Scope and ContentSubseries consists of photographs of the Twenty-Eighth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Board of Governors of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) (now the World Bank Group), held in Manila, Philippines, from October 4 through October 8, 1976. Subseries includes photographs of Governors delivering speeches, attending social events (including those hosted by representatives of the Philippines), wives socials and outings, governors and affiliates seated at their country's meeting hall place settings., Photographs (prints and negatives) have been kept in their original order as found in fourteen photo albums, four groups of prints, over two-hundred rolls of negatives, and a single page of textual records. Deposited in the IMF Archives from the Annual Meetings Office in January 1981, ten of the fourteen albums are oversized and contain prints that are taped to each page and include the following titles: Album Group 1, Book 1, Social; Album Group 2, Book 2, PICC Reception & Plenary Session; Album Group 1, Book 3, Social/Meetings; Album Group 1, Book 4, Social/Meetings; Album Group 1, Book 5, Miscellaneous/Parties, etc.; Album Group 2, Book 6, CBC Parties; Album Group 2, Book 7, C. Virata Party and Department Heads; Album Group 2, Book 8, Dinner Party--Regent; C.B. Bank Albums, Book 9, Dinner Parties--Hyatt; and C.B. Bank Albums, Book 10, Manila Hotel (parties, etc). For preservation reasons, the photographs in the four remaining albums have been removed. The contents of these original albums (four, green, sprial-bound albums with "Manila, Philippines" printed on each cover) were placed in four archival files as follows: [File 1] "Green Volume" [1]; [File 2] "Green Volume" [2]; [File 3] "Green Volume" [3]; and [File 4] "Green Volume" [4]. These four albums contain prints that were grouped together under some of the following headings: Opening Session Plenary Hall Oct. 4, 1976; Executive Bar and Lounge; Exhibit Halls; Arrival of Delegates Manila International Airport Oct. 2, 1976; Airport Facilities; Ladies' Tour National Arts Center Mt. Makiling Oct. 7, 1976; CB-DF Cocktail Oct. 7, 1976; Visit to the Money Museum; Boat Cruise to Corregidor Oct. 8, 1976; [Governors casting ballots]; Latin-American Governors & Wives Dinner Manila Polo Club Sept. 30, 1976; Metro Manila Governo's Dinner Reception Folk Arts Theatre Oct. 5, 1976; Luncheon-Ghana Delegates PICC Oct. 5, 1976; President Ferdinand E. Marcos' Dinner at the PICC Reception Hall Oct. 5, 1976; and EBIC Dinner, Au-Bon Vivant, Oct. 6, 1976. The four groups of prints are rehoused in two archival files as follows: [File 5] [Black and White Contact Sheets; Two Commerical Photographer Prints]; and [File 6] [Black and White Prints]. The contact sheets found in [File] 5 correspond with the prints of [File 6] and include the following groups of photographs: ballet; Marcos dining and social events; University of the Philippines; Senior-level attendees delivering speeches; Governors and afilliates seated at country's meeting hall place setting; meeting room signs; convention center; annual meetings staff; and candid photographs of senior-level attendees. All of the negatives are currently stored, rolled, in their original canisters and are arranged in an ascending numerical order (rolls 1 through 243) as assigned by the photographers. The remaining textual record, [File 7], lists the titles of each photo album as well as the approximate number of photographs they contained as deposited by the Annual Meetings office in January, 1981 to the IMF Archives.
