Subseries consists of photographs of the Forty-Ninth Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (formerly the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development), held in Madrid, Spain from October 4 through October 6, 1994. Authored by IMF photographers, subseries includes photographs of senior-level attendees participating in meetings, delivering speeches, and attending social events., Photographs (negatives, prints, and slides) have been kept in their original order as established by IMF photographers in four albums. Album one (assigned with archival file numbers 1 through 24) is organized according to the documented event with four-digit film roll numbers applied to each roll of film and written on the corresponding contact sheets. Album two consists of "50th Anniversary" events and a dinner reception. Album three includes photographs of the grounds surrounding the Palacio de Congresos, events including Lamberto Dini, Managing Director Michel Camdessus, World Bank President Lewis Preston, Juan Carlos I of Spain, representatives of Hong Kong formally signing documents, ESAF (Enhanced Structural Adjustment Facility) signings, and candid and group shots of staff. Album four covers the Per Jacobsson Foundation Lecture and reception. Textual records include a publication, Fifty Years after Bretton Woods (29-30 September 1994). Gaps include some missing contact sheets.
